Simply walking around town is fun! Congress St, State St, Market St / Market Square, Prescott Park (waterfront.) You’ll find many restaurants, historic buildings, old architecture, maritime scenery.

Tug Boats – walk down Bow Street to see the often photographed Portsmouth Tugboats. Stop into a nearby restaurant and sit on one of “the decks” that overlook the Piscataqua River.
 
Take the 20-30 minute walk to Maine over the Memorial Bridge to Government St and into Kittery Foreside. One block of fun: Anju Noodle bar, Lils Cafe, The Black Birch, Festina Lente, The Corner Pub.
 
Drive to Great Island Common in New Castle, a 10 minute drive from downtown Portsmouth. Photograph Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse and Whaleback Lighthouse. Around the corner is The Wentworth Hotel. Get a drink at the bar, have a spa treatment, take in the views.
